PhD research presentation: "Measuring the plankton CO2 production throughout the water column by the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) activity"
Last Friday we had Mayte Tamés's presentation entitled "Measuring the plankton CO2 production throughout the water column by the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) activity".
She talked about the use of a new enzyme proxy for marine CO2-production method based on the activity of different isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) isoenzymes, involved in the Krebs cycle.

Next PhD student presentation - Friday 21th
Next Friday we'll have a new PhD research presentation. This time will be the turn of Mayte Tames and her work entitled "Measuring the plankton CO2 production throughout the water column by the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) activity". A summary of her work
PhD research presentation: "Reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage of the eastern coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria"
Last Friday we had another student research presentation. This time was the turn of Eva Perez research "Reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage of the eastern coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria" about the reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage’s characteristics of the coast of the Canary Islands since the late XIX century, considering the natural, historical and cultural heritage.

Next PhD student presentation - Friday 7th
Next Friday we will continue with the presentations of the PhD students researches. This time will be the turn of Eva Pérez and her work entitled "Reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage of the eastern coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria". A summary of her work
PhD research presentation: "Identification and quantification of polyphenols in micro algae"
As part of the Ph.D. Program in Oceanography and Global Change, last Friday we started with the presentations of the students researches.
This first presentation was "Identification and quantification of polyphenols in microalgae. Involvement of these compounds in the oxidative stress resistance", the PhD research of Idaira Jerez Martel about how some organic compounds, such as phenolic compounds, are involved in defense mechanisms against oxidative stress caused by high concentrations of metals.
PhD. program in “Oceanography and Global Change”. Pre-registration now open.
